24/7 Protest Until Victory!

Follow us on twitter for updates.

After months of our protests, the since the city announced a cash bailout for lenders while drivers are left in debt and at risk of foreclosure and bankruptcy. We waited for years for the City to respond to our crisis of debt and poverty. But the plan — a $20,000 loan to drivers to offer to lenders to write down loans — comes with no concessions from the lenders for our benefit. Monthly payments and loan balances will still stay high, leading to foreclosures. And there is no City guarantee to protect us against losing our homes or having our wages garnished when the foreclosures start. The City’s plan is not a solution, it’s an ambush. And we refuse to give up!
