BREAKING NEWS: Port Authority Announces $4 Pick Up Fee on Taxis & $4 Pick Up and Drop Off Fee on FHV's!

We are looking forward to seeing our App members at the campaign meeting tomorrow, Wednesday at 9PM at the office. First, a few breaking news updates: The Port Authority is proposing a $4 Fee on Taxi Pick Ups and $4 Pick Up and Drop Off Fee on FHV's. While the hearing will be in July and the vote in September, let's confront the Port Authority starting this Thursday, June 27th at 11am at 2 Montgomery St in Jersey City.

Yesterday, our owner-driver members took over city hall at a historic first hearing on medallion debt forgiveness. Our organizing keeps gaining momentum because drivers are packing hearing rooms from Albany to City Hall! Show that force of power as we fight the new attack. And App drivers, remember, all campaign victories start with our meetings. See you tomorrow!

Congratulations to NYTWA Members Who Are Leading the Fight to Win Debt Forgiveness!
We took over City Hall for their historic hearing on TLC Role in Owner-Driver Crisis & Debt Forgiveness!

Over 200 NYTWA owner-driver members packed the floor and balcony of the City Hall Chambers yesterday to demand Debt Forgiveness during the City Council Investigations and

Transportation Committee join hearing on the owner-driver crisis and the role of the TLC and city government. We received great support from Chairs Ritchie Torres, Ydanis Rodriguez, Council Members Mark Levine, Brad Lander, and Steve Levin during comments and questions.

The Council allowed our side to testify first before the TLC. Over 25 of our members spoke with passion, facts, heart, and honesty and stole the show! Members Mouhamadou Aliyu and Golam Istiaque led the way on the first panel, and throughout the hearing drivers spoke up for our debt forgiveness demands.
